Greater Malabar Initiative (GMI)
GMI focuses on bringing malabar region into tourism map with home stay, etc. We visited Rubber plantations near Kozhikode in the backdrop of beautiful Wayanad foothills. Rubber plantations also provides plenty of opportunities for automating the cutting, collection processes. It is always good moving up in the value chain, as it protects the farmers from price volatility. There are entrepreneurial opportunists in value addition of rubber. It’s important to create a local investor community that would support these entrepreneurs as they can connect with the problems better. Good discussions with few HNIs in Kozhikode around this.
Regional Knowledge Exchange Workshop of Startups’ by #DPIIT started with a panel discussion on ‘Seed and Venture Funding Support-Fund of Fund Scheme by #KSUM’.
,speaking at the panel discussion about the importance and need of attracting local investors to drive the startup ecosystem.
Session 1: Panel Discussion on Incubators & Startups: A NEXUS Impact
Technology Business Incubators have an inevitable role in today’s startup
ecosystem. TBIs have advanced as Knowledge and Tech Hubs of the Country. In
addition to this, Incubators critically analyse the internal and external factors that
govern the local ecosystem and polarise their strategy in aiding startups.
Understanding the notion behind the combined development is the crux. The object
of this panel discussion is to give incubators and startups an understanding of each
other and to bridge the demand and supply gap of both the entities.
