Kalam’s vision 2020 (written in 1998) seem a possibility in 2020 by the crisis! These youth (City Returning) saying bye to India, who built Bangalore now can build their villages, that is what Kalam’s PURA – Providing Urban Amenities in Rural Area was looking for! Social enterprises have opportunities now to utilize these to improve Rural Livelihood!
When people who return from the overseas called – “Reverse Brain Drain” or “Foreign returned”. Then why are we using the term “Reverse Migrants”, shouldn’t we be calling them “City Returned”.
Thanks to Preethi Rai of Being YouNSRCEL IIMB reporting this video from field. Thanks to prof Venkatesh PanchapagesanRishikesha Krishnan of Indian Institute of Management Bangalore sponsoring these caps to keep them protected from the scorching sun, while waiting for their tickets!
PURA – Urban infrastructure and services be provided in rural hubs to create economic opportunities outside of cities.
